In early 2008, TRPC purchased The Daily News, a six-day newspaper in McKeesport, and The Laurel Group, the publisher of six weekly newspapers in Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Two years later, the news, advertising, circulation and management teams of TRPC and WHI began using the name Trib Total Media to describe their newspaper and media properties. in December 2003, then publisher of 22 weekly community newspapers, along with the Pennysaver, a full-service commercial print facility and direct-mail house. TRPC’s sister corporation, Westminster Holdings, Inc. In 1997 TRPC acquired four of the region’s other daily newspapers – Valley News Dispatch, Leader Times, Daily Courier and The Valley Independent. Today, TribLIVE is one of the area’s leading online resources for news, information, entertainment, sports, classifieds and more. It relaunched in 1998 as and later was renamed. The Trib launched Western PA’s first online news resource – Tributaries – in 1995.
